The Nike Air Trainer SC High Auburn is easily one of the most iconic Bo Jackson sneakers of all time. Originally released in 1990, this colorway is deeply tied to Bo’s time at Auburn University, borrowing its white, navy, and orange palette from the Tigers football uniform.
While there have been several standout colorways in the SC High line over the years — including the Raiders edition — this one continues to be the most widely recognized and frequently re-released. I’ve probably seen more colorways of the SC High than any other model in Bo’s cross-training line, but this is the one everyone knows.
I’ve owned a retro or two of the Auburn SC High in the past, but it’s been a while. When I saw the 2025 version drop at Finishline for retail, I didn’t hesitate. I’m glad I grabbed these — that classic look still hits, and the orange accents bring just enough pop without being too loud. There’s something timeless about the way this shoe balances boldness with a nostalgic 90s vibe.
Compared to previous releases, the colors on this retro seem a bit deeper — the navy looks brighter, the orange and grey darker, and overall the shape feels slightly adjusted. That said, this still feels very much like the Trainer SC High we all remember. This 2025 version doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. It just brings back a staple.
These come in the standard Nike orange box and include white flat laces.
Materials
The materials are what you’d expect from a Nike Sportswear retro — nothing premium, but decent. Leather makes up most of the upper, with a softer nubuck or suede-like texture on the mudguard and Swoosh. The build feels solid in hand and there’s no glaring QC issues.
Fit & Comfort
Fit is a little clunky and old-school, just like the original — not uncomfortable, but definitely built like a tank. I went true to size and would recommend the same unless you have a particularly narrow foot.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
